This three-in-one serum combines 35 compounds that are naturally present in your skin - such as Natural Moisturising Factors, Ceramides and Fatty Acids. Is it a serum or a moisturiser? Do I still need both?
Is it a serum or a moisturiser? Do I still need both?
The milky emulsion texture is more substantial than a traditional serum but lighter than a moisturiser, and it's formulated to function as both a hydration treatment and a barrier support step. If your skin is oily or combination, you may find it's enough on its own before SPF. If your skin is dry or you're using active ingredients like retinal or exfoliants, we'd recommend layering a moisturiser on top for extra reinforcement.

Yes, it's been formulated for daily use, AM and PM. Two to three pumps massaged into the skin is enough for a full face and neck. There's nothing in the formula that makes it unsuitable for daytime, and it layers well under SPF.

After cleansing, apply it following any thinner-textured products — a toner, mist or chemical exfoliant — then follow with moisturiser and SPF in the morning. Because of its milky texture it's slightly more viscous than a water-thin serum, so it works best applied after your lightest layers and before anything richer.

As a general rule, apply your products thinnest to thickest in texture. The Essential Hydration Serum has a milky, more viscous consistency, so it should follow any thinner-textured treatments — apply the Retinal Clarity Serum or the Pigmentation Corrector Serum directly onto clean skin first, then follow with the Essential Hydration Serum. Both the Retinal and the Corrector benefit from going on before anything richer, to ensure they reach the skin directly. The Essential Hydration Serum then sits on top, sealing in hydration and supporting the barrier while the actives do their work.
Is it suitable for acne-prone or congestion-prone skin?
Is it suitable for acne-prone or congestion-prone skin?
Yes. The formula has been carefully considered for skins that tend to congest easily and can help support the skin whilst using active treatments, like retinoids or Accutane. That said, if your skin is very oily, the milky emulsion texture may feel richer than you'd prefer, in which case a more water-light hydrating serum might be a better fit. It really comes down to your skin's individual needs and preferences.

Yes. There are no ingredients in the Essential Hydration Serum that are contraindicated during pregnancy or breastfeeding. As always, if you have specific concerns we'd recommend checking with your primary physician.
